Aaron Choate Breaux Bridge LA Obituary, Death:- Aaron Douglas Choate, a devoted husband, father, and friend, passed away on January 6, 2025, at the age of 46. A Funeral Service will be held in his honor on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at The Family Church in Lafayette at 2:00 pm.
A visitation will take place earlier in the day from 9:00 am until the time of the service, allowing family and friends to gather and remember Aaron’s remarkable life. Pastor Jay Miller will officiate the service.
Born in New Iberia, LA on June 3, 1978, Aaron grew up in the tight-knit community of Parks, LA, where he developed his love for sports and family. He attended Breaux Bridge High School, where he met his future wife, Chantel. As a linebacker on the school’s football team, Aaron displayed leadership and tenacity on the field.
He also excelled in powerlifting, showcasing his strength and discipline. Even after graduation, Aaron remained active, often found playing street basketball or joining an adult league flag football team, all while cherishing the time spent with his friends and family.
However, it was Aaron’s fierce love for his family that truly defined him. He was married to Chantel for 23 years, and together they raised their daughter Abigail. Their bond was unbreakable, with Aaron always putting his family first and making sure they felt loved and supported.
Aaron’s love for life was evident in everything he did—from his infectious stories that made everyone laugh to the constant presence of his dog, Duke, by his side. He had an innate ability to bring joy to those around him, creating lasting memories for his loved ones.
Aaron was also deeply committed to his faith and community. He was a man who valued relationships and was always ready to offer a helping hand. Whether it was assisting a neighbor or supporting a friend, Aaron’s kindness knew no bounds.
His entrepreneurial spirit led him to start his own business, Aaron’s Fiberglass, a successful venture that became a trusted name in the Acadiana area and beyond. Aaron’s determination and hard work were the driving forces behind his business’s success, and his legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.
In his free time, Aaron enjoyed being active and staying fit. As a CrossFit instructor at Ragin’ Fitness, he inspired others to push their limits and improve their health. Aaron’s passion for physical activity extended to fishing and, later in life, pickleball, a sport he quickly fell in love with.
Though he only had a few games under his belt, Aaron was already determined to become a “Champion,” a reflection of his relentless drive and positive attitude. Aaron’s passing leaves a profound void, but his legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will continue to resonate.
He is survived by his wife, Chantel; daughter, Abigail; parents, Brad and Dorothy Choate; sisters, Julie Smith and Jill Mayes; father-in-law, Rocky Gravouilla; mother-in-law, Brenda Gravouilla; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his nephew, Kelly Theriot.
Though Aaron’s physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit will live on through the stories he shared, the friendships he cultivated, and the impact he had on everyone who knew him.
